My new obsession: surface design

I think I may be addicted to color. Is that a thing? I have been having so much fun trying my hand at “surface design,” which in my case means abstract, marble-like patterns for fabric and wallpaper. My goal is to introduce a collection of lamps made with fabric I have designed.

I’ve just listed my first 8 designs at Spoonflower. They are a wonderful Durham-based company that makes fabric to order. This is a great way to minimize waste and give people like me the chance to try surface design. Here is a link to my store on Spoonflower.

I will be thrilled if I can earn a little through their site to offset the cost of materials for my lamps. We’ll see. In any case, I am having a blast. More designs coming soon.
