Ocean in an Eggshell

With colors like an ocean in an eggshell, this one-of-a-kind emu eggshell bowl is gorgeous inside and out. The outside of the bowl is the natural dark green color of the egg. I carved the rim to reveal the inner ivory and teal layers of the shell. These natural colors may gradually change over time becoming somewhat darker blue or gray. Each egg ages differently! I painted the white inside of the eggshell with swirling layers of blue, green, white, silver and touches of purple that complement the outer shell. To me, the painting evokes ocean currents and boundaries as seen from space. The bowl is 3.25″ tall by 3.5″ in diameter. It comes with the wooden ring as shown.
